Create Combo Vehicles In Dead Rising 3 Like The Fork Work And Roller Hawg

There's a reason why Capcom Vancouver made the main character in Dead Rising 3 a mechanic. Nick can create combo weapons like Chuck Greene, but doesn't need a work bench to do so. Nick can also make combo vehicles.

'

The Roller Hawg shown below is a motorcycle with a steamroller attachment and flamethrowers. Nick isn't the only one that can ride combo vehicles. Siliconera hears one of the psychopaths we revealed, the motorcycle gang leader, uses the Roller Hawg.

Going Beyond Localizing Western Games For Japan, A Studio Focuses On Culturalization

The business of bringing Western games to Japan is growing with companies like Spike Chunsoft, Konami, Cyberfront, and even Square Enix handling Activision's games in Japan. Most of the work done for console titles like Dragon Age, Dead Island or Call of Duty is purely localization work. It's similar to bringing over a Final Fantasy game or Rune Factory title here where a Western division translates, localizes, and handles voice acting.

'

Adways.it and Mutations Studio has a different approach focused on culturalization. They picked up Burn the Rope from Canadian developer Big Blue Bubble and published in Japan with new artwork.

'

"The original game has to have something that already appeals to the local Japanese market. We want to maintain that, but we might have to make some changes to make it appeal to the Japanese market," said Keiji Fujita, Vice President of Adways Interactive. "For non-Japanese people, they aren't familiar with Japanese culture or the needs or preferences of the market. We aren't just localizing games. We're culturalizing games for the Japanese market."

'

"Character graphics and the art style is a big point. Instead of realistic characters, Japanese people prefer small and cute characters," Hiromi Watanabe, Localization Coordinator." Adways handles the new art design and culturalization work in house. Fujita explained to Siliconera that they didn't change the game design of Burn the Rope at all, but added new graphics to make it appeal better to the local market. For other titles, Adways and Mutations Studio are willing to tweak games so they can monetize better in Japan and handle community management.

'

The Japanese version of Burn the Rope is available now and Adways plans to repeat this strategy by licensing more Western developed mobile games for the Japanese market.

Namco Bandai Introduces Four Characters In Tales Of Link

Namco Bandai Introduces Four Characters In Tales Of Link

Namco Bandai have been quite busy registering trademarks this month, but the only Tales game that has been formally announced thus far is Tales of Symophonia Chronicles. Jump brings us news about Tales of Link, a Tales game for smartphones, and the main characters in it.

'

Sara

“Important note for starters: Never give up!”

'

Sara is a new adventurer who left her village for a certain reason. She meets Rippi along her journey, as they both search for the “Savior”. The way she dresses really stands out. She also wears bloomers.

'

Rippi

“I’ve witnessed your power earlier. You must be the Savior.”

'

Rippi is a fairy who’s been ordered by Leone to recover the “Seed of Disaster”. She serves under the Savior, who has the ability to purify the seed. Rippi has the appearance of a hairy Mormo, who walks on four legs, and also carries a smartphone around its neck.

'

Shiza

“What’s the difference between the power to protect, and the power to destroy? They’re both violent.”

'

Shiza is a swordsman, whom the Saviors in charge of purifying the Seed of Disaster meet along their journey. He seems to have tenacious thoughts about power. Shiza’s appearance is characterized by his multiple swords he carries: a great sword on his back, three katanas on his wasit, and two kodachi swords.

'

Leone

“The disaster will be stopped by all means. I will stop it.”

'

Leone is a goddess who managed to escape her troubles when the Seed of Disaster’s seal came undone. In order to suppress the seed from blooming, she currently isn’t able to move. She has then passed on her powers to the fairy Rippi, who has been entrusted to recover the Seed of Disaster.

'

Jump also reports that there’s a possibility we’ll be seeing past Tales characters in the game. The fairy Rippi will also have the ability to change into different forms.

'

Tales of Link is scheduled for release this fall on smartphone devices.
